How can I send a message to my host?

Find the in-app chat for your trip, send text or photos to your Host, and where to get help if they don't reply.

Every trip has its own chat with the Host, right inside the app. That's where you sort out pickup, ask about the car, or send a photo if you need to. The chat stays available before, during, and after the trip.

Step by step

  1. Open your trip.

  2. Tap the Messages tab at the top. Or tap the "Message" button next to the Host's name on the Pickup & Return card.

  3. Type your message in the field at the bottom and tap send.

  4. To send a photo or file, tap the paperclip icon to the left of the field.

Your messages show on the right, the Host's on the left, with the time under each one. The chat always opens on the most recent message.

Don't cancel the trip if your Host asks you to. If there's a problem with the car, ask them to contact Sync or to cancel it themselves. That keeps you protected.

Where do I find older messages?

The whole conversation lives on the Messages tab for that trip. Scroll up to see earlier messages.

Can I message after the trip ends?

You can always read the conversation. Whether you can still send depends on the trip's status.

My Host isn't replying. What do I do?

If the Host goes quiet and you need help, reach Sync through Contact Sync Support in the trip's support section. We're available 24/7.
