Driver eligibility on Sync

Two things decide which cars you can book on Sync: your age and how long you've had a driver's license. The higher the value of the car, the stricter the limits.

If you search and don't see any results, or a specific car you knew was available, this is usually why.

The limits by category

Vehicle category

Minimum age

License held for

All standard vehicles

20 years

At least 1 year

Premium

25 years

At least 1 year

Deluxe or special vehicle

30 years

At least 1 year

Your age is read from the date of birth on your driver's license. The 1-year requirement is counted from the date the license was first issued, not from the most recent renewal.

Premium and Deluxe: the host of the vehicle decides which category their car falls into. You'll see the category on the car's listing page, just above the price.

Why a car doesn't show up in your search

If you're already verified and you search, Sync automatically hides cars you can't book based on your age. So:

  • You're under 25 → no Premium or Deluxe cars appear.

  • You're 25 to 29 → no Deluxe or special vehicles appear.

  • You're under 20 → no cars appear at all.

If your friend can see a Deluxe car that doesn't show up for you, that's the reason.

Why you can't complete a booking

Sometimes the car shows up fine but you get stuck during checkout. Almost always, it's one of these:

  1. Your age on your license is below the limit for the car's category.

  2. Your license was issued less than 12 months ago.

  3. You're trying to upload an old-format paper license.

  4. Your license isn't recognized by the identity check (Veriff). This is usually a photo or lighting issue. Try again in good light, no reflections.

Example: You're 24 and you try to book a BMW 5 Series listed as Premium. The car won't show up in your search results, and if you reach it via a link, the booking won't go through.
