Need the car a bit longer? While your trip is underway, you can request a new return date from the app. The extension happens automatically, as long as the car is free for the extra days.
Step by step
Open your trip. While it's underway, the status badge reads Active.
Under the date timeline, tap "Extend trip".
Pick your new return date.
The system checks whether the car is free for the extra days.
If it is, you'll see the added cost before you confirm.
Confirm, and your return moves to the new date.
How the cost changes
An extension adds days, so it costs more. Your card is charged the difference for the new days automatically. The amount shows clearly before you confirm. There's no modification fee for an extension: you only pay for the extra days.
If the car isn't available
Sometimes the car is booked by another guest right after your trip. When that happens, we can't extend it automatically. Message your Host from the Messages tab to work out what's possible together.
Return the car at the time you booked. If you want it longer, extend before the trip ends. Returning late without an approved extension can lead to extra charges and leaves the next guest stranded.
