How can I change the pickup location for my trip?

Move your pickup to a specific address within the Host's delivery area before check-in, and how the delivery fee changes.

Booked with a rough area and now you know exactly where you'll be? While the booking is confirmed and you haven't checked in, you can change the pickup spot from the app. If the new address sits inside the Host's delivery area, the change happens automatically, with no approval needed.

Step by step

  1. Open your trip and find the Pickup & Return card.

  2. Tap "Change location".

  3. Pick one of the spots the Host offers, or type a specific address.

  4. If the address is inside the delivery area, you'll see the new spot on the map and any delivery fee.

  5. On the confirmation screen, check the new address and the cost difference, if there is one.

  6. Tap "Confirm change". The Pickup & Return card updates with the new spot.

How the cost changes

The delivery fee depends on the spot you pick.

  • If the new spot has a higher delivery fee, your card is charged the difference.

  • If it's lower, or you switch to a free pickup, the difference is refunded.

  • If the fee is the same, nothing changes on your payment.

The final amount updates on the Key Numbers card as soon as you confirm.

If the address is outside the delivery area

If the address you enter is beyond the area the Host covers, the app tells you and won't make the change. You can try another address closer in, or pick one of the Host's own pickup spots instead.

The Host is notified of every location change, so they know where to bring the car. You don't need to message them separately, but you can always reach them from the Messages tab to coordinate.

FAQ

Does the Host need to approve the new spot?

No, as long as it's inside their delivery area. The change happens automatically and the Host is notified.

Can I change the spot more than once?

Yes. Each change goes through the same flow. The cost difference is always worked out against the original delivery fee on your booking.

I don't see the "Change location" button. Why?

The button only shows when the Host offers delivery and there's still time before pickup. If you're very close to pickup time, or the Host doesn't deliver, the button doesn't appear.

When can't I change the location?

After you've checked in, and for any trip that's underway, completed, or cancelled. Location changes only happen before the trip starts.
