What is Sync and how it works
Sync is an Airbnb for cars. It allows anyone with a safe and high-quality vehicle to rent it to other people. At the same time, it offers an unparalleled car rental experience to those who need it, with a process that comes from the future. You choose the make and model you like and receive exactly what you booked, not something “similar”. You book and pay digitally, you pick up the car somewhere near you, or the car owner brings it to your door. You don’t go through the “counter” of the rental office, you don’t swipe your card in the “machine”, you simply unlock the vehicle with the instructions of its owner and you're on the road in 5 minutes!

Most Sync vehicles are equipped with digital features that allow owners to unlock their vehicle without being there themselves. You locate your rental vehicle, unlock it with your Provider’s instructions, and you’re ready to go! Many Sync Providers deliver your vehicle to your door, when you need it.
Last minute booking? No problem! You will receive your vehicle within minutes of your booking.
A trusted Marketplace

Like any self-respecting marketplace, Sync has a rating system for Providers and their vehicles. You can avoid vehicles that have troubled previous renters and have low ratings. This gives Hosts at Sync a tremendous incentive to keep their vehicles in top condition and you will rarely find a reason to give a bad rating.
Direct support from the owner: For anything you may need during your trip, your support comes not from a “call center representative” but from the owner of the vehicle you rented. Is there anyone better to give you the help you need?

Some Hosts meet their clients, while others prefer remote delivery.

Your Host (vehicle owner) meets you at the delivery point to hand over the key.
With a lockbox
Your Host sends you the code to unlock the lockbox they have left at the car so you can get the key.

Your Host unlocks the vehicle remotely using their app when you arrive.

FAQs

What do I need to rent a car with Sync?

To rent a car on Sync, you need to create an account with your email, be 18 years or older, have a valid driver's license for at least one year, and be approved to drive on Sync. During your first booking, you'll go through a quick approval process by submitting your driver's license and some other information. In most cases, you'll be approved instantly and ready for all your future road trips!

Do I need my own insurance?

Sync doesn't offer insurance programs, but the vehicle you book will be insured by the Host (owner of the car) for civil liability and other damage liabilities up to a certain amount.

What is Sync's cancellation policy?

You can cancel and receive a full refund up to 24 hours before your booking starts. If you make a booking with less than 24 hours notice, you have one hour after booking to cancel without charge. If you cancel after the free cancellation period expires, a small cancellation fee will be charged based on the original duration of the booking.

Can the vehicle be delivered to my door?

Yes! Hosts (vehicle owners on Sync) offer delivery to travel points such as airports, train stations, and hotels, or to special delivery locations like your hotel or home. There are cars available through Sync in convenient locations near hundreds of points in the city. Many Hosts offer delivery exactly to your requested location. Use the search filter to see only vehicles that can be delivered to your door. Some Hosts offer free delivery, while others set their own delivery fee.

Can I get discounts when renting?

Many Hosts on Sync offer discounted rates for weekly and monthly bookings, as well as "early bird" discounts for trips booked a week or more in advance. Secure the best deals and lowest prices, from cars to SUVs, by making longer bookings at least a week in advance.

Occasionally, Sync may also send you promotional codes, discounts, and offers!

Can others drive the vehicle I booked?

Yes, other drivers can drive the car you book through Sync, as long as they have been approved for driving. The primary driver (the person who made the booking) can add additional drivers without any fees or extra costs. Only the primary driver can request to add drivers - Sync Hosts cannot do this for you. We recommend requesting additional drivers before your trip begins.
